Jacaranda Day 2025: Recap

Jacaranda Day 2025 was a promising start to the Jacaranda Foundation's new legacy of support for the Sutherland Shire. With a turnout of Shire locals all carrying their local pride and a special appearance from Member for Cronulla Mark Speakman, we ended up raising almost $10,000 for the Sutherland Hospital in one night!

For the Shire community, by the Shire community

The Shire bloomed a little brighter as community and business leaders from all over the shire gathered together to raise funds and support the Sutherland Hospital. A medical resource which has served 98% of the Shire community since its founding in 1958, the Hospital is a vital part of life in the Shire and it was amazing to see our community come out, share some laughs, and help it grow even further.

Together, our little community managed to raise nearly $10,000, a fantastic first step that will go a long way in providing better quality care to the Shire for generations to come. Every dollar raised by the foundation goes directly towards funding the Hospital's two new expansion projects: The Bangawarra Cancer Care and Research Centre, and a new dedicated Education and Research Centre.

It was heartwarming to see members of the Shire community all gather under the Jacarandas together for such a great cause, united by the beauty of those little purple flowers and the meaning they carry for Gary Grant and his legacy.
